Page Background

In addition, the Results and limitations section of the Abstract states that values for incontinence and erectile dysfunction

were adjusted values, whereas in fact they represent unadjusted values. Thus, the paragraph should read as follows:

‘‘At 12 mo after RALP, 366 men (21.3%) were incontinent, as were 144 (20.2%) after RRP. The unadjusted OR was 1.08 (95%

confidence interval [CI], 0.87–1.34). Erectile dysfunction was observed in 1200 men (70.4%) 12 mo after RALP and 531

(74.7%) after RRP. The unadjusted OR was 0.81 (95% CI, 0.66–0.98).’’

Table 1a

was included to compare different definitions of urinary incontinence in terms of the number of pads used.

However, this is not clear from the table caption. Furthermore, the definitions for comparisons in the lower half of the table

are incorrect. The following is a corrected version of

Table 1a .

In

Table 1b

, the second item ‘‘Not pad free and not leakage free’’ should read ‘‘Not pad free or not leakage free’’ to correctly

describe the analysis and the result. In addition, the footnote ‘‘Adjusted A’’ should read: ‘‘age at surgery, preoperative urinary

leakage, body mass index, inguinal hernia, abdominal surgery, diabetes, pulmonary disease, mental disorder, and prostate

weight.’’

For Table 2, the footnote ‘‘Adjusted A’’ should read: ‘‘Age at surgery, preoperatively potent, diabetes, inguinal hernia,

smoking status, cardiovascular disease, and marital status.’’

Supplementary Tables 1a, 1b, and 1c now include all possible confounding factors.

Conflicts of interest:
